The Queensland Govt Department of Transport and Main Roads (QDTMR) has confirmed it is happy for PipeClass3 to be used for QDTMR projects, with designs conducted in accordance with the Road Planning and Design Manual.
As part of a significant investment to upgrade PipeClass, the CPAA involved QDTMR early in the redevelopment process to ensure their requirements were met and QDTMR have now reviewed the revised software, PipeClass3 and confirmed they are confident it addresses their concerns about the previous version. The key inclusion in the new version to address QDTMR’s concerns is the option to use AS5100:2017 Loads and Distribution (in addition to AS/NZS 4058:2007 Loads and Distribution) meaning the software is now deemed appropriate by QDTMR for use when designing pipelines for major highways (in addition to subdivision and council roads).

PipeClass3 is also now cloud-based and responsive, meaning it can be used on a variety of devices – anywhere, anytime.
The design program was originally developed more than 20 years ago, with more than 25,000 users registering to use the application and is a cornerstone of what the CPAA stands for … to promote and develop excellence in the industry ensuring that proven steel-reinforced concrete pipe and associated precast products are the benchmark product for stormwater drainage, large diameter sewer, low pressure and irrigation pipe applications in Australasia.
